About the 55ft Van Dutch

The 55ft Van Dutch is the boat Miami knows on sight — the long, low, knife-edged silhouette that became shorthand for a certain kind of Miami afternoon. Ours is a 2021 VanDutch 55 carrying up to 13 guests, with three cabins and two bathrooms beneath that famously clean deck.

It books at $2,300 for three hours, $2,500 for the popular four, $3,000 for six and $4,000 for the full eight-hour day. The four-hour window is the signature: out past the islands, anchored where the boats worth looking at anchor, and back at the dock with the light still good for photos.

A captain and mate crew it; fuel, ice, a cooler, drinking water and a floating mat are in the rate. Provisioning is yours — most groups keep it champagne-simple on this one — and gratuity runs customary at 15 to 20 percent. A 50% deposit reserves the date.
