Cancellation & Refund Policy
Clear, fair, and built around the one thing none of us control: the weather.
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains how cancellations, changes, and refunds work for charters with BillsIn Yachts Miami. In short, confirmed charters are nonrefundable, but if the captain cancels for unsafe weather, a hurricane watch or a closed port, you choose a full refund or a 12 month credit.
The policy in short
Once your charter is confirmed, it is nonrefundable. The one exception is unsafe weather or sea conditions: if the captain decides it is not safe to sail, you may reschedule your charter to another available date at no extra charge, or receive a refund.
Nothing is charged until we confirm
No card details are collected when you book. Once our team confirms that your charter is available, we send you a secure payment link by text and email for the 50% deposit, payable by Zelle or card. Nothing is charged until you open that link and pay, and the balance is due at boarding. If we cannot confirm your booking, no payment is requested and the hold on your date is released.
Requesting a change
If you need to change your charter, please contact us as early as you can and include your booking reference. While confirmed charters are nonrefundable, we will always do our best to help and may be able to move your charter to another date, subject to availability. You can reach us by email at [email protected], by phone at (786) 460-1898, or on WhatsApp.
Weather and hurricanes
Your safety comes first, so the decision to sail in marginal weather rests entirely with the captain. If the captain cancels your charter for unsafe weather or sea conditions, we will reschedule it to a new date that works for you at no extra charge, or refund you if no date works.
Who makes the weather call, and when you hear
The captain makes the weather call. For most charters that call is made the morning of the charter, when the day's forecast and sea state are known. For crossings to Bimini or the Bahamas, and for any charter under a National Hurricane Center watch or warning, we tell you by 6pm the day before whether the charter will run, move or be refunded.
When a charter counts as cancelled by us
A charter is treated as cancelled by us, with the weather options below, when any of these apply on the charter date: a National Hurricane Center hurricane or tropical storm watch or warning for Miami-Dade or the charter route, a US Coast Guard port condition that closes the departure marina, or a small craft advisory the captain judges unsafe for the booked vessel.
Your choice when we cancel: reschedule, refund or credit
Rescheduling to another available date at no extra charge, as described above and in the charter agreement, stays open to you. Two further options sit alongside it.
If we cancel for weather, you choose: a full refund to the original payment method within 10 business days, or a credit for the full amount paid, valid for 12 months from the original charter date, usable on any boat subject to availability and any difference in rate.
If you cancel ahead of a forecast storm
Guest cancellations remain nonrefundable. If you cancel because a National Hurricane Center watch or warning has been issued for the charter date, we will hold your payment as a credit valid for 12 months rather than treat it as forfeited.
Guests who do not arrive
If your party does not arrive for a confirmed charter and you have not contacted us in advance to reschedule, the charter is treated as completed and remains nonrefundable. If something has gone wrong on the day, please call us right away so we can help.
Late arrivals
Your charter time begins at the scheduled start time. If you arrive late, the on water time may be shortened so that the charter still ends as planned, as we often have other bookings to follow. We cannot extend a charter beyond its booked window when doing so would affect another guest, and late arrival does not change the agreed price.
